After Hawaii and Singapore, Dallas is the next destination! The latest citywave® has opened in the famous entertainment district of Deep Ellum.

The standalone location “Goodsurf” combines urban lifestyle with a laid-back surfing atmosphere, nestled in the centrally located creative hub of the bustling metropolis.

Smooth waves thanks to advanced technology

The Munich-based company action team Veranstaltungs GmbH, a global leader in the creation of artificial surfing systems for stationary waves, has launched its fourth citywave® in the United States. The highlight of this new addition? The continuously refined deep-water technology delivers an even smoother wave surface for the 9-meter-wide wave at Deep Ellum.

The citywave® serves as the main attraction for a venue designed to be an all-day destination. The lifestyle hub features a bar, a restaurant seating 300 guests, a beer garden, and four pickleball courts.

A successful opening party

The grand opening party was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Over 350 invited guests, including local celebrities,
influencers, surf enthusiasts and the press, gathered for an unforgettable evening. Professional surfers Ben Benson from Bali, Anastasia Ashley from California, and Fabian Villarroel from Switzerland performed spectacular tricks on the new citywave®.

The official opening day followed on June 20, 2024. From June 21–27, the first surf session was free for each visitor, giving many walk-in guests the chance to try surfing for the first time. Within the first week, all subsequent surf sessions were quickly sold out.

Surf year-round in Deep Ellum!

From now on, the citywave® Deep Ellum is open year-round, Monday to Sunday. A single surf slot costs $40 per person and is shared with a maximum of seven other participants. Two waves for Dallas?

With the addition of the citywave® Deep Ellum, Dallas now boasts two surfing locations. Earlier in spring 2024, the citywave® Dallas opened at the Grandscape shopping and entertainment area. This gives the city two surfing hotspots, where even some Texans in jeans, shirts, and cowboy boots can be seen hopping on a surfboard. Howdy!
